~ Fiddlesticks~

(Designs by Dorothy Siemens)

C'est la vie!
C'est la vie! combines simple rows of lace and knit-purl textures to create this easy-to-knit yet beautiful wrap. The “vee” shape sits comfortably on the shoulders, and the ruffles add extra flair.

The pattern recommends aran weight yarn. This sample was knit with Needful Yarns Filtes King “Extra” Australian Merinos in colour # 2015 (13 balls) and “Extra Stampato” #8008 for the ruffle (4 balls).

(Recommended for Intermediate knitters.)

$10.95

Flirty Ruffles
The Flirty Ruffles Shawl is an elegant wrap featuring the very old and traditional lace pattern "Print o' the Wave." The ruffles add an unexpected and flirty touch, and swirl enticingly as you move around. Requires six ounces Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool-Silk yarn.

(Recommended for Intermediate knitters.)

$10.95

Flower-Power Poncho
The Flower-Poncho Poncho is a fanciful salute to the retro fashions of the '60s, but prettily updated for now. It's easier to wear than a shawl, and looks great with jeans or short skirts! It knits up fast in a garter stitch lace pattern, with two strands of yarn held in the hand together. The pattern uses two skeins of Zephyr Wool-Silk, and four balls of Baby Kid Extra mohair.

(Recommended for Intermediate knitters.)

$10.95

Garden Shawl
Create a figurative garden as you knit this shawl. Stroll with your needles down the flower-strewn paths that frame drifts of leaves, ferns and flowery borders.

The shawl is knit by increasing stitches from the center outwards. All rounds are knit from the front side. Requires lace weight yarn. Finished measurement approx. 60" square. Requires seven skeins Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn.

(Recommended for experienced knitters.)

$10.95

Inky-dinky Spider Shawl
This stole features traditional Shetland lace patterns, which, with a little imagination could resemble spiders and their webs. It is knit in a very soft lace-weight merino yarn which comes in a lovely array of colours. The pattern uses five skeins of Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn.

(Recommended for Experienced lace knitters.)

$10.95

Lacy Lattice Stole
The Lacy Lattice Stole is an elegant mohair rectangle, just right for covering bare shoulders on cool summer evenings. The main body combines a diamond and cable-like lace pattern, and the ends are in a woven lattice pattern. The lacy edging is added last. Requires three balls Filatura di Crosa "Baby Kid Extra" mohair yarn.

(Recommended for Intermediate knitters.)

$10.95

Lily of the Valley Stole
The Lily of the Valley Stole is a pretty and feminine wrap, featuring traditional Estonian lace patterns. Little bobbles called "nupps," create the illusion of sweet sprays of lily of the valley. Requires four onces Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool-Silk yarn.

(Recommended for Intermediate knitters.)

$10.95

Lotus Blossom Shawl
The Lotus Blossom Shawl uses two traditional Shetland lace patterns, Razor Shell and Madeira Wave, which together create the suggestion of graceful lotus blossoms on long stems.

Knit it with Fiddlesticks Knitting Country Silk yarn.

(Recommended for Advanced Beginner or Intermediate lace knitters.)

$10.95

Peacock Feathers Shawl
The Peacock Feathers Shawl is a stylized version of a peacock's tail in full display, from the small feathers at the top of the peacock's back, down to the dramatic sweep of the tail. Requires four ounces Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool-Silk yarn.

(Recommended for Advanced Intermediate knitters.)

$10.95

Tina Shawl
This is a Shetland-style square shawl using traditional Shetland lace patterns. The construction is simple — a central square is knit, then stitches are picked up all around and worked on circular needles, after which the lace edging is added. Requires six skeins Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn.

(Recommended for Advanced Intermediate or Experienced knitters.)

$10.95

Two Lace Scarves
Daisy Meadow Scarf - has jaunty tassels and can be worn in a number of ways, such as a shoulder capelet tied in front, wrapped around the neck or inside a jacket neckline. Measures approx. 46" from tip-to-tip along top edge and 32" along each side.

Rippling Waters Scarf - features wavy patterns of lace meandering around pebbles in the streambed. The scarf is worked by knitting a lace edging from which stitches are picked up to work the main rectangular body. Measures approx. 12" wide and 48" long after blocking fairly tightly.

(Recommended for Intermediate knitters.)

Each scarf requires one skein Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn.
